I work for a liquor distributor and have a recurring problem with vodka & tomato juice. My coworkers and I cannot agree on the correct plural form of Bloody Mary. Help!
or fill in the name and email fields below:
Bloody Marys (though after three or four, who cares?)
yeah, Bloody Marys.
With proper nouns the -y remains unchanged and you just add an -s.
I have a recurring problem with Scotch and soda, but... uh, never mind. :)
Bloodies Maries is the correct plural form.
It’s Bloody Marys. Changing the y turns Mary into Marie. Don’t use the rule if it alters the meaning or pronunciation of the word. The Smoky Mountains never become the Smokies, but the same token. Why there’s no E in the word is another question.
