My friend is sending an invitation, and she is using the date of:
January, 16th 2016
Is this technically correct, or at a minimum not considered barbaric? Where should the comma be?
or fill in the name and email fields below:
My understanding is that the comma belongs after the 16.
Also, while it may be pronounced "sixteenth", you never write the "th" (or "st", "nd", etc.).
So, it should be:January 16, 2016
I would omit the comma and put a period after 16th.
comman format would be: January 16th, 2016see date formats at:
jayles the unwoven
Jayles the unwoven and Hairy Scot are right, the comma must be placed after 16th. For more understanding of the use of commas there is an interesting post here: http://gedeasy.com/ged-language-prep-commas/
