The correct Demonym for USA is …‘U.S. Americans’!
North and South Americans are all Americans (no matter who agrees and disagrees).
If I answer what country I am from, I will say Canadian!
If I answer what continent I am from, I will say American! Right away, they have to ask: What part of America or what type? I will say North American!
Thus, I will always mean/refer to ‘the Americas’ (and their citizens) whenever I say America(ns)!
