In this scenario the word TEXT is being used as a verb. The word CALL is also being used as a verb. You would not say, “I CALL him last night (past tense).“ On the contrary you would say, “I CALLED him last night;” hence, the same should apply to the verb TEXT—“I TEXTED him last night.”
