Correct preposition following different? Redux
- May 31, 2020, 7:30am
It seems that the 'from' vs 'to' issue is not confined to the use of 'different'.
Recently found 'separate to' being used instead of 'separate from'.
I have also seen instances where 'to' is used instead of what most of us would think be the 'correct' preposition:-
'deal to' instead of 'deal with', 'think to' instead of 'think of'.
In addition our American cousins seem to favour the omission of prepositions. Particularly with verbs like protest and debate.
In the interests of brevity perhaps?
